Indie Clothes - It is ALIVE!

By Bindy Mitz in Indie Clothes - News

Lovers of Indie Clothes...I am BACK!

If only computer operating systems were as reliable as a good t-shirt and a cup of hot chocolate. Alas they chose to eat passwords, email addresses and the odd small child while laugh maniacally at your pathetic attempts to import old back-ups while choking back the sobs.

We shall speak of this NO MORE!

A new age dawns tomorrow when the posts will continue unabated. Hold me close while I click "post", and remember where you were when Indie clothes returned to the interwebz.

Indie Clothes - Technical Meltdown

woman5.jpg Thursday, 01 November 07 - 06:54 AM (GMT)
By Bindy Mitz in Indie Clothes - News

Indie Clothes Headquarters suffered a terrible technical meltdown to which we are only now just recovering.

I could go into sad tales of incompatible RAM and a pair of 8800GTXs but that would bore the pants off of you. So it is back into the swing of things with more indie fashion tips, looks, clothes, shoes and rants!

Indie Clothes - Get Your Stuff From the USA

woman5.jpg Wednesday, 26 September 07 - 10:43 AM (GMT)
By Bindy Mitz in Indie Clothes - News

Hi Indie Clothes lovers!

Don't You just hate when you find an online retailer in the USA and they only ship to addresses in America. I can tell you it makes me spitting mad. The amount of great things I have found only to be left sitting over there *waves hand in the general direction of the other side of the world*

I have researched getting a US mail forwarding service and I can tell you there are some dodgy, dodgy, dodgy people out there. Just check out some of the comments around the place about some of the "well known" ones.

Anyway I want to make a recommendation to you to use Earth Class Mail . This service is A1 and does much more than mail forwarding but here at Indie Clothes that is what we use them for.

Clicking on the link above will get you your first month free!

Indie Clothes - What Are You Buying?

woman5.jpg Tuesday, 25 September 07 - 07:08 AM (GMT)
By Bindy Mitz in Indie Clothes - News

Welcome to Indie Clothes all you new visitors!

This site gets more than 50 new people visiting it every day and quite a few people coming back to see the daily almost daily updates.

But what is perplexing me is that while lots of people are clicking on the links in the stories (and each picture is also a link) no-one is actually buying anything. Why? Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

I would love to see a bit of discussion going about the clothes on the site. Do you love them? Do You Hate them? Do you hate me? Do you only come here to escape stories about Britney Spears?

So please...leave a comment. tell me what you think. Go wild!

Indie Clothes - Historical Stuff

woman5.jpg Friday, 14 September 07 - 07:31 AM (GMT)
By Bindy Mitz in Indie Clothes - News

Sometimes it isn't all about indie clothes, sometimes it is all about the history of indie clothes.

I was little bored today. Actually I was a LOT bored. Clock ticking down to the weekend type of bored. I decided I would have a look around the internet and track down the origin of a few of the indie fashion must haves.

I came across this awesome website (and PLEASE ignore the name, could they have made it any more off-putting?) BadFads.com . Look at this great page about go go boots.

In 1965, Los Angeles and New York discos were infiltrated with women dressed in thigh high dresses and go-go boots.

Go-Go boots were calf level boots with a broad heel that were either bright while leather or vinyl. They originated from the collection of Andre Courreges, a Parisian. His collection introduced white dresses three inches above the knee coupled with white mid-calf boots - called "kid boots". That year his collection overshadowed such seasoned designers as Coco Chanel.

In 1965, Nancy Sinatra topped music charts with her smash hit "These Boots Are Made For Walking." The record sold almost 4 million copies -- she will forever be the poster child for go-go boots.

By the spring of 1965, go-go boots began to fall out of fashion with designers showing shorter skirts and higher boot

How cool is that?!
